Teen Moms

Teen Moms
Teen moms is a reality TV show that portrays the life of teens that got pregnant in high school and what their life is like now. It shows the struggles that they go through on a daily basis. What they go through being young moms working to support their family, and maintaining relationships with their children fathers or new romantic partners that have entered their lives. Each mom struggles equally to find a balance of being a mother, partner, and teenager. It isn't always easy for them, but they also have some good times too. The moms do their best to give their children the best lives that they could have.

           Ali Simms
If we take a look at some of the moms lives we can see how things have not been easy from the start. Like for instances Leah Messer is one of the mothers on the show who at 16 got pregnant with twin girls. Aliannah Simms and Aleeha Simms two beautiful little girls. Things were going well until Aliannah commonly referred to as Ali in the show, started to show signs of a slower development compared to her sister Aleeha. Ali was taken to numerous doctor visits and had many test preformed on her until they came to the diagnosis of Titin Muscular Dystrophy. This is a rare form of disease as is but it is also the first case that they have ever diagnosed to a child. She has come a long way since the diagnosis but it has been a financial burned on Leah and her Ex-husband Corey. Ali will unfortunately battle this disease for the rest of her life but she has a great support system in her Mom, Dad, and sister Aleeha who has been by her side since the start.
Jace Evans
Leah isn't the only mother that struggles we see every mom struggling in their own way. Jenelle Evans, she got pregnant with her son Jace in high school as well. She was in a rough relationship at the time and her boyfriend ended up in jail. Jenelle did not feel stable enough to raise Jace on her own or really even at all at the time of his birth. So she gave her mother parental rights over Jace until she was stable and on her feet again. Jenelle at the time did what she thought was best for her son, it's not that she was not there for him she just thought that maybe her mom would be able to give him a little more at the time that he was born. Jenelle is currently fighting for his custody with her new finance David.

One happy family
Next we have Chelsea DeBoer, she is the mother of Aubree Houska. Chelsea has recently been married for the first time to Cole Deboer and they have welcomed son Watson DeBoer to the family. Chelsea has been up in down with Aubree's father for a few years until she finally called it quits and moved on. She is now very happy with her husband and small little blended family. She has been able to work things out with Aubree's dad so that thing are on better terms and life for her is starting too turn around.

Isaac Rivera

Kailyn is the last mom that will talk about. She is the mother of son Isaac. Kailyn is no longer with Issac's father and has recently given birth to another son Lincoln. She has been doing pretty well for herself she has written a book about her life and how her teen pregnancy in high school and the struggles that she faced along the way. She went through a lot at the being of her pregnancy with Issac from her family throwing her out to living with her ex-boyfriends family until she was able to get her life together enough to move out on her own.

All these girls have been through a lot and the show has documented their growth and their falls. With each season the viewers see the girl's growing up and see how far they have come since the day that they found out they were going to be teen moms. Despite the shows original purpose of being a way for young people to understand the struggles of being a mom at such a young age and using the show as an eye opener for the viewers, the show has a lot of controversial opinions on what the purpose exactly is intended for and what it displays. The controversy that arises about the show Teen Moms is that it may be encouraging young women to get pregnant. The argument is that the moms do have a lot handed to them and that the show made them famous. Studies have also shown that since the show started airing that the teen pregnancy rate has risen (Martins, Nicole, Jensen, Robin E."The Relationship Between "Teen Mom" Reality Programming"). The show can not be directly linked to it but it could be more than just a coincidence that the static raised. It is something that some people feel strongly against but other do not see it as a hindrance  (Audrey, Jennifer Stevens, Behm-Morawitz, Elizabeth Kim, Kyungbo. "Understanding the effects of MTV's 16 and Pregnant" In my opinion I think that it is a show that draws people in with the drama. A lot of it is intensified by the producer because at the end of the day it is still a reality show, but it is also still the real lives of these mothers that have gone through so much. You can make a lot of things up but you can't make up the consequence and emotions that these mothers feel on a day by day basis. That is why I feel that people show give this show a chance, despite the negative publicity that can be attached to it you should really watch it before you allow someone else opinion to alter your own.
