Liquor, Sex, and Aggression

The different ideas of reality shows such as game shows like Jeopardy, drama like how Dance Moms incorporates its, and lastly everyday lives like Jersey Shore. Which is why I have decided to talk specifically about  Jersey Shore, because this seems the closest it gets to reality TV. Also, the shows popularity has made it possible for many shows to essentially copy its idea. This show that takes place on the Jersey shore coastline, relatively close to the boardwalk. The cast members names are Mike, Vinny, Pauly D, Ronnie, and JWoww, Snooki, Sammi, and at times Angela. So the show consists of this group of "Italians" who are given a house with relative good location to the boardwalk. The members are given jobs which for the first few seasons, which does get a good bit attention but over time it is essentially taken out of the show. The only main emphasis for having the shop is when the cast members don't show up to work because they tend to be to hungover. Then the house is essentially one big drama set. All of the cast are essentially huge partiers who love to end up at the smush room. The problems develop of cheating scandals, unlikely foes sleeping together, and of course huge drawn out fights. (Jwoww season 2) "It's a package deal me and my two bitches." A quote commonly referred to from season one from Jwoww, who was referencing Snooki and Sammi. Those three commonly form a team like Vinny, Pauly D, and Ronnie. The common people who are left out are Mike and Angela because they tend to start a lot of the drama on the show. For instance in the second season Sammi got a secret note in the house about how Ronnie was cheating on her again. So Angela and Snooki are the ones who came out and admitted to writing the note. Of course though Sammi has a lot to say about them in a negative way so Jwoww steps in like shown.  This is the circle of life on the show though. They have huge fights that leads to physical altercations then it leads to making up. Eventually back to the bar acting like one big Italian family again.
So what do I get out of this show besides just the entertainment. This show has very expressive emotions for myself it is easy to get hooked onto a show like this. For myself it helped me learn how to get out there more, meet new people, and also how to pick up chicks to extent. Also, the terminology on this show is very up to date. The original season started in 2009 which was in my 8th grade year. I didn't know anything about alcohol or how it affects people. After a mere three seasons I believe I had fully understood how to handle my alcohol, and partying. Other than those two things this show did not translate into my life, seeing the fact that it's all partying and booze. Though convincing someone else to watch this show is very easy.

Jersey Shore is a very entertaining show. That brings together a certain group of people and basically shows the damaging side effects of alcohol. So why should you watch it? Besides the alcohol and sex this show is very appealing to the younger generations. These are some of the realities that we will have to face when living together, long before we settle down, and stop living with roommates. Some people are going to have a bad day, or even worse night. This is somewhat how we are now supposed to handle it. At the end of the day it is one house even with 4 to 8 different minds in it. It is very key to stay together as one just like a family would. So personally this is why I believe for most of us this is a very important show to watch and learn from.

The show also embodies how relationships are built and maintained. At the beginning it was like a freefall everyone liked everyone, except Angela because they all determined she was a backstabbing bitch. Over the show though you see relationships form like how Sammi and Ronnie are constantly dating, or how the three musketeers were formed. On both the male and female sides Ronnie, Paulie, and Vinnie, and Snooki, Jwoww, Sammi. Those relationships stayed strong even though a lot of fighting did occur over show. Which the showmakers clearly intended seeing how they stacked the house full of alcohol.
